Vapor & E-Cigarette FAQs

What is an electronic cigarette?

Electronic cigarettes, also called e-cigarettes or e-cigs, are tobacco free electronic devices that may deliver nicotine to their user through the inhalation of a vapor charged with nicotine. Not burning any tobacco, electronic cigarettes are tar, smoke, odor, and ash free.

They combine a battery and a tank filled with a special e-liquid available in a variety of flavors and nicotine levels. The liquid is heated up inside the tank and vaporized into the mouthpiece so it can be inhaled.

Some e-cigarettes are disposable. They look like traditional tobacco cigarettes. The battery cannot be recharged, nor the tank refilled. The disposable e-cigarette can be used until the battery runs out or the liquid is depleted. It will then need to be properly disposed of.

Other e-cigarettes are rechargeable. The smaller rechargeable e-cigarettes look like traditional tobacco cigarettes in shape and feel. The liquid is in a pre-filled or refillable cartridge called a cartomizer.

The e-cigarettes with larger batteries are called personal vaporizers. They use refillable tanks called clearomizers.

Vapor Widgets carries a wide range of technologically advanced, high performance electronic cigarettes. Our expert staff will help you choose the one that is right for you. They will also get you to try our wide selection of premium e-liquids and help you select the nicotine level that is right for you.

Is vaping safe?

Our e-liquids are made with food grade ingredients. Electronic cigarettes release extremely low levels of toxins into the air, well below occupational safety limits, and further studies have shown second-hand exposure to nicotine in e-cig vapor is virtually nonexistent. Not only are e-cigarettes safer for users than traditional cigarettes, but there is virtually no risk for second-hand exposure according to a 2012 study by CleanStream Air.

Is nicotine bad for me?

The short answer is no. Nicotine is just as harmless as caffeine in small doses. However, it is very addictive. All of our Hathi VIBE e-liquids are also available with no nicotine.

How do e-cigarettes compare to tobacco cigarettes?

According to many studies, traditional tobacco cigarettes have over 7,000 chemicals of which hundreds can cause cancer. Since electronic cigarette are not burning any tobacco or paper, but just vaporizing an e liquid, they will also not release any carbon monoxide, generate any offensive smell, or create second hand smoke.

How do I use an e cigarette?

If you have a Hathi UNO disposable e-cigarette, just take it out of the packaging, remove the plug on the mouthpiece and draw like a normal cigarette. You will see the tip light up indicating it is working properly.

For the e-cigarettes with rechargeable batteries, the first step is to make sure your battery is fully charged using its dedicated USB charger and AC adapter. Our batteries come fully charged from the factory, so you can use them right out of the box. Next, fill the tank with your selection of our premium Hathi Vibe e-liquid. If you are using a bottom coil tank, make sure the coil is screwed snuggly in place before you close the tank. Then screw the tank gently onto the battery.

Some cities and states have restrictive regulations for e-cigarettes, so make sure to inquire and respect all local laws. In places that are smoke free, but have no specific regulations on electronic cigarettes, it is always better to be polite and ask if you can use your e-cigarette.

Refer to your specific e-cigarette’s users manuals for more details.

How often do I need to recharge my battery?

Vapor Widgets offers a wide range of e-cigarettes with a variety of battery specifications. A big factor in your initial choice of an e-cigarette is how much you smoke. Smaller batteries are usually chosen by people smoking less and larger ones by those smoking more. Normally, a battery should last you at least a day. Most of our batteries have a button with an LED light indicating the charge level. When the light turns red, it’s time to recharge. On average, batteries can be recharged about 300 times.

How do I know if my battery is fully charged?

Each battery comes with its own dedicated USB charger. Those USB chargers have an LED light that will be red when charging and turn green when the battery is fully charged. All our batteries have an internal safety mechanism to avoid over charging. Though we don’t recommend leaving a battery charging longer than overnight.

What is a cartomizer?

A cartomizer is a disposable cartridge with polyfill and an atomizer built into it. The polyfill holds and absorbs your premium Hathi e-liquid and the atomizer vaporizes it into a rich, flavorful vapor.

How long will my cartomizer last?

Each cartomizer holds up to 1.3ml of e-liquid and will last about one day for the average e-cigarette user when filled up. A full cartomizer is the equivalent of about 1 pack of tobacco cigarettes. It can be refilled several times. When the amount of vapor starts diminishing on a fully charged battery or you notice a burned taste, it’s time to dispose of the cartomizer and use a new one. To keep the e-liquid in your cartomizer fresh, keep the silicone plugs that came with it and replace them when you are not using your Hathi CLASSIC e-cigarette. You can keep filled up cartomizers for up to 18 months if kept plugged and in a dry, cool place. If you keep your cartomizer in your refrigerator, make sure they warm up to room temperature before you use them.

How often do I need to replace my coil/wick?

The coil is the part that vaporizes the e-liquid into vapor. The useful life of the coil depends a lot on the vaping habits of the user. For instance, you will increase the life of your coil if you heat it only when you inhale. Also, higher VG percentage e-liquids tend to lower the useful life of coils. On average, coils will last the equivalent of about 30ml of e-liquid. Change the coil when you get a reduced amount of vapor on a fully charged battery or when you start getting a burnt taste.

How do I select the coil/wick resistance that is right for me?

The choice of coil resistance that is right for you depends on the internal characteristics of the battery you use and on your vaping preferences. For each battery, there is a minimum resistance you can use. Higher resistance coils will lower the throat hit and the amount of vapor you get. For a typical 900mAh battery delivering a constant 3.7V, we recommend a 1.8 Ohms single coil. If you have a variable volt battery that can go up to 4.8V, we recommend at least a 2.5 Ohms single coil. You can also upgrade to a 2.0 Ohms dual coil like in our Hathi Mega Thrill tank.

The below chart will give you more details on the battery voltage/coil resistance combination:

What's inside the vapor?

The two main ingredients in our premium Hathi VIBE e-liquids are top quality food grade propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG), along with food grade flavorings. It may also contain nicotine as we offer the following levels: 0mg, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg, and 24mg. Propylene glycol is the primary component in our e-liquids. The propylene glycol gives you the throat hit you are looking for when vaping. It is the vegetable glycerin that creates the dense, but smooth vapor when heated. Our formulas contain no diacetyl.

Vapor Widgets offers over 50 e-liquid flavors. Come in and try our wide range of liquids. Our expert staff will also help you select the level of nicotine that is right for you.

Which are the levels of nicotine?

We offer a choice of five different levels of nicotine: 0mg, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg, and 24mg of nicotine. The nicotine combined with the Propylene Glycol will create the throat hit. We recommend that a person smoking a pack a day and switching to vaping use 18mg. The final choice of nicotine will depend on how much you smoke and how much throat hit you like.

How long will a 10ml bottle of e-liquid last?

It is difficult to say exactly how long a bottle of 10ml will last as it depends very much on the user’s anatomy as well as their vaping habits. As a guideline, 10ml is equivalent to about five to seven packs of traditional tobacco cigarettes.
