New Year, New You, New Take on Resolutions

We’re already a week into the new year – have you kept up with your resolutions? With so much hustle and bustle, it can be difficult to keep up with your new commitments. Here at the Vapor Widgets shop, we like to encourage new beginnings. After all, it’s our mantra. Our vape shop is decorated with a statue of Ganesh – the Hindu God of new beginnings. So when it comes to New Year’s resolutions, we see a great way to revamp our lifestyle by welcoming a new start and improving our quality of life.

But how do we stick to our resolutions without getting caught up with everything else? Well, thankfully, there are professionals who give great advice on how to keep your resolutions in full swing with a different approach.

Dr. Deepak Chopra recently underscored four intentions that are sure to help keep you consistent throughout the year and awaken your body, emotions, mind and spirit into a single, unified stream.

And the four intentions are:

  • I want a joyful, energetic body
  • I want a loving, compassionate heart
  • I want a restful, alert mind
  • I want lightness of being

Start your morning off by taking a few moments to quietly reflect on your state of being. Focus on your breathing and the beating of your heart. Silently reflect on the four intentions, calling up each intention and pausing to notice the response, the image or sensation, that you get after each intention is brought to mind. By starting your day with this exercise, you will have created an atmosphere that removes the negativity from trying to enforce a resolution by committing to an internal shift in perspective.

With this new approach, your chance for success and sticking to your resolution throughout the year should definitely increase! Rather than use sheer willpower to overcome a bad habit, internalize these intentions and focus on them throughout your day. You’ll feel entirely new!
